Now the right way round!
The book shown on the right (Great North of Scotland Railway Locomotives, by Hugh Gordon, 2008, 96pp, A4, Hardback) is the definitive history of GNSR locomotives, describing - class by class - all the locomotives built by or for the company and its constituents. It also examines locomotives proposed, but not built. Hugh has drawn on his knowledge of locomotive design, first learnt as an L&NER premium apprentice under Sir Nigel Gresley, to discuss the characteristics of each class. Full dimensions, plus building and withdrawal dates are provided. Illustrated with over 80 well-chosen photographs, plus copious diagrams. For photographs of locomotives on the GNSR system or for a details of GNSR locomotive numbers (including any re-assignments thereof), please see drop-downs from Locomotives button (above)
